When purchasing a smart toilet, safety and hygiene are important factors that determine whether consumers buy or not. Therefore, smart toilets with antibacterial functions have appeared one after another, and now many companies have begun to emphasize the word "antibacterial" in their publicity. Many businesses will advertise the use of "antibacterial materials", "antibacterial glaze", and "antibacterial function" in their toilets.
However, this raises two questions:
① Are there really so many bacteria on the toilet seat?
② Can these antibacterial toilets be antibacterial?
Although the toilet seat has bacteria, it is not terrible
In long-term use, the toilet seat may be contaminated with urine. Although the urine of normal people is generally free of bacteria, it may carry bacteria in the urine when urinary tract infections. These bacteria are also very likely to adhere to the toilet seat. Circle on.
The number of these bacteria exceeds expectations. American scientists have conducted a bacterial test on household items and found that 295 bacteria accumulate per square inch (6.452 square centimeters) on the outside of the toilet seat. Another study also showed that when 100 million polioviruses were put into the toilet, 30,000 viruses were spilled on the toilet seat.
The survival time of bacteria is also staggering. A research team randomly inspected 34 seat-type toilets in the toilet and found that 21 toilets were found to have Shigella, one of which was named "Sonnei" who survived in the seat for as long as 17 days.
In this regard, Kelly Reynolds, an expert at the University of Arizona and Risk Assessment Center, said that most people worry about direct contact between the skin and the toilet with more bacteria, but in fact, only a few bacteria will spread through the skin and the toilet. The skin has a protective effect. Compared with the bacteria on the toilet seat, everyone needs to pay more attention to the bacteria in the excrement.
Smart toilets using antibacterial materials have an antibacterial rate of over 90%
The well-known sanitary ware companies that we know all introduce smart toilet products with antibacterial function. For example, some products use advanced antibacterial ABS materials to prevent bacteria from multiplying and growing, and some add antibacterial masterbatch to the seat ring, which contains nano-level silver ions, so it can have an antibacterial effect.
However, can the toilet that advertises "antibacterial" be antibacterial? If so, what is the antibacterial rate?
Recently, the Health Home Appliances Analysis and Testing Center of China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute used the 7 batches of seats in accordance with the national standard GB/T 21551.2-2010 "Special requirements for antibacterial, sterilizing and purifying antibacterial materials for household and similar electrical appliances" Smart toilets with antibacterial materials have been tested, involving brands including TOTO, Kohler, American Standard, Panasonic, Washirou and Benjiebao. The results show that these smart toilets with antibacterial function have an antibacterial rate of more than 90%, and some products even reach 99.99%. This shows that the antibacterial toilets of well-known brands on the market meet the national standards and are trustworthy.
Keep the seat hygienic, you have to do it
Of course, if you don't clean the toilet seat on time and do a good job of protection, no matter how powerful antibacterial materials are, it will not save your ass.
● Do not use cushions
There is an experimental surface in the United States. An originally clean flannel cushion for a seat ring will reach 200,000 bacteria after 2-3 days of use. If it is used continuously for 7-10 days, there will be as many as 30 million bacteria on the cushion. Therefore, if it is not necessary, it is not appropriate to use a cushion. In fact, thanks to the more and more complete functions of the smart toilet, the seat cushion is no longer necessary, because the seat heating function can fully meet the needs, or directly use the disposable seat cushion.
● Clean on time
The toilet seat is the place where the toilet is in close contact with the skin, but it is also the place where the most serious contaminants are attached, and it is easy to breed a large number of bacteria, so the toilet seat must be cleaned on time. When cleaning, first scrub with disinfectant, and then wipe with clean water.
