Smart toilet lids (or smart toilets) belong to electrical appliances. As long as they are electrical appliances, waterproofing needs to be considered - not to mention that it is installed in the room (toilet) that consumes the most water.
The smart toilet seat itself is generally waterproof, and the waterproof level is usually IPX4. This waterproof rating means that the smart toilet seat can withstand splashing water from any direction.
What is splash water? It can be understood that as long as the smart toilet lid is not directly soaked in water, there is no problem. The showers, faucets, etc. we worry about can't cause harm to the smart toilet seat. However, it does not mean that the faucet is turned on and poured directly. Generally, in the bathroom without dry and wet separation, we must wipe it dry in time after using the shower to avoid it being in an environment of long-term water immersion.
Can a smart toilet cover be installed without wet and dry separation?
If only from the perspective of the smart toilet cover, it is not affected by dry and wet separation - it can be installed with or without dry and wet separation. However, if the toilet is not separated from wet and dry, or the toilet is placed in the wet area during dry and wet separation (small toilets are generally so dry), you need to pay attention to the following two issues when installing the smart toilet cover:
1. Plug
The smart toilet cover needs electricity, and the toilet cover is waterproof, which does not mean that the plug is waterproof. Therefore, the plug of the smart toilet cover is waterproof, and the user still needs to be careful.
The simpler way is to install a waterproof box for the socket used by the smart toilet cover - not the kind of splash-proof box commonly used in bathrooms, and its waterproof level is not enough. It is necessary to buy a special waterproof box for the toilet socket (waterproof level is above IPX4), which is similar in appearance to the ordinary splash-proof box but has an additional ring of sealing strips.
At the same time, pay attention to the size of the waterproof box. It should be ensured that the waterproof box can be closed normally after the plug is inserted.
2. Safety device
Although the smart toilet seat is waterproof, we still can't just bet on the same dealer. What to do if the waterproof function of the smart toilet cover fails is a problem we need to consider.
Therefore, we need to check the wiring in the home before installing the smart toilet cover to ensure that the circuit where the smart toilet cover is located has a leakage protection switch and a ground wire, and if necessary, a leakage protection socket can be used - the leakage protection socket cannot replace the leakage switch and ground. If there is no leakage switch and ground wire in the line, you should repair it as soon as possible or give up the idea of installing a smart toilet cover.
