Students in the School of Environment of Beijing Normal University start an experiment. They randomly select an ordinary family bathroom and follow the routine microbiological standard inspection method. They pour the solution containing E. coli into the smart toilet, set an air sampling point every 25 cm above the electric toilet, and divide the sampling into two groups.

 

Group A is the distribution of environmental microorganisms with the electric toilet lid closed. Group B is the control group that the distribution of environmental microorganisms with the electric toilet lid opened. After that, they record the number of microorganisms in different areas in two groups every week. It turns out that the closer the sample is to the smart hygiene toilet, the more microorganisms spread. And the number of microorganisms get from group A is much larger than it is in group B when two samples are got in the same sampling area.

 

We can get some conclusions from the experiment that toilet utensils are best placed at 1m-1.25m since the number of bacteria below 1 meter is the largest. What’s more, we should open the lid to flush the sanitary toilet and make sure the toilet is ventilated.
