Guidelines for Selecting a Smart Toilet Seat

Toilet Lid Specialist

The selection of a smart toilet seat involves several important considerations that should be taken into account. As an expert in the toilet industry, I would like to provide you with the following professional guidelines:

1. Type: Split Type or Integrated Type

Smart toilets are available in two types: integrated smart toilets and split smart toilets. The key component in both types is the toilet lid.

If budget is not a constraint, choosing an integrated smart toilet is undoubtedly the most convenient and hassle-free option. Integrated smart toilets eliminate concerns about lid compatibility and offer a seamless and visually appealing design. However, they are generally more expensive than split-type smart toilet seats.

From a budget and cost perspective, choosing a split smart toilet seat is the most cost-effective choice.

2. Installation Conditions

a) Power Supply: Smart toilet seats require an electrical power supply. Ensure that there is a power socket near the toilet for installation. Sharing power sources with other devices may require the use of a patch panel, which can affect the performance of the smart toilet seat. During house renovation or decoration, it is important to plan and reserve a dedicated power socket for the smart toilet seat in advance.

b) Waterway: Smart toilets require a connection to the tap water supply for the flushing function. If your toilet's water supply is tap water, you can directly connect the smart toilet seat to the toilet using a three-link connection. However, if the water supply is from a different source, such as medium water, you will need to ensure a dedicated tap water supply. If there is no existing tap water supply near the toilet, additional plumbing work may be required. Make sure that the waterway in your home meets the necessary conditions before purchasing a smart toilet seat.

c) Size and Shape: For integrated smart toilets, it is crucial to measure the pit distance, which refers to the distance from the center of the toilet's downpipe to the wall. If you plan to tile the walls, measure the pit distance after tiling or take into account the tile thickness when measuring in the rough room. For existing toilets, pay attention to the shape and size of the toilet when selecting a smart toilet lid. Irregularly shaped or short toilets may have limited options for compatible smart toilet lids.

d) Water Quality: Smart toilets are directly connected to the water source for flushing. While most smart toilets have a built-in primary filter, areas with poor water quality may require an additional filter. Filters should be replaced every six months to a year to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness. If you have a whole-house water purification system installed, an additional filter may not be necessary.

3. Heating Method

There are two common heating methods for smart toilet lids: water storage type and instant heating type. The water storage type utilizes a water tank to store and heat water for flushing. However, stagnant water in the tank can breed bacteria and cause secondary pollution. The latest technology offers antibacterial and automatic water change features for the water tank, but it still falls short of the sanitation provided by heating living water. The water storage type also has limitations in terms of hot water availability and power consumption. The quick-heating type is an enhanced version of the water storage type, reducing the water tank size and increasing power.

The instant heating type, on the other hand, does not require a water tank and heats water only when it is used. This method prevents energy waste and eliminates the risk of secondary pollution caused by stagnant water in a tank.

4. Nozzle

The nozzle is a critical factor in determining the cleaning effect and user experience. Smart toilet nozzles are primarily made of stainless steel or resin. Japanese manufacturers often use resin, while domestic manufacturers use both materials. There is little difference between the two, and the choice can be
